Feb 6th, twenty-twelve.
« on: February 06, 2012, 01:48:34 PM »

While snapping some landscape shots I had to get a few of the car!!!
some look like duplicates but exposure differences and minor cropping had been done.  Enjoy!

It looks so happy! Like a kitten in a laundry basket full of warm sweaters and unraveled yarn.

Oh it was...it was indeed!
Unfortunately the little stretch of snow covered road was just that...little.  Only about 75 yards of unplowed gravel parking lot at Walnut Creek :(

Using an SLR?  If so, circular polarized filter is your friend for car shots.

Either way, looking good man.

DSLR with a circular polarizer on all these shots.

What time did you go take these pictures, regardless, it's hard to get good depth at high noon in the middle of a snowy area.

If you had gone out at 4:30 to 6 ### when the light is softer, you would have caused something magical to happen.

Well done either way

Around 8:00 - 8:30 am.  The sun was almost getting too high by that point and the snow was getting glarey.
I'm pretty happy with how they came out.  It's not like I have a crazy expensive lense.  Plus no tripod with me...it was only 10 degrees out and my hands were killing me.
I though the patchy fog created a soft feel to the landscape shots in the other thread.
