This is the reason for my love of the "old school" Impreza.  This and watching WRC and Colin on Speed channel way back when, drive one of these things to the limit...

Very cool.  :y:  It's fun to watch him take that hairpin at all the different angles.  I can't believe how much he seems to short shift it.

Nice video.

From another video in the Impreza WRC 2004 Colin said the car revs to about 5,500rpms. I'm assuming the 'short shifting' is due to the intake restrictor choking off power at the top end, the WRC cars are tuned for low / midrange power.  :thumbup:

what a bloody wizard.

tranny has to be a dog box, straight gears. i love the way he doubles-down gears.. drops it 4/3/2 then dumps the clutch out when he initiates his turn. add power, continue drift thru the corner. power it straight out.

he's backing the bloody car in like the supermoto racers do on their bikes.

the GCX mafia doesn't exist. long live the GCX mafia.
